Photos from Alabama
Here's another batch of photos from our US road trip.
The first few were taken at Gip's Place in Bessemer, Alabama. It seems we may have been among the last people to enjoy this amazing juke joint, as the local police closed it down the following Saturday. There have been many protests from local people who the mayor of Bessemer called a mob, but it seems it will remain closed, at least for the time being.
Here's Gip Gipson, who has run the place since 1952 -he's a bluesman himself.
Here's one of me with Gip.
This is Chris Simmons, whose band were playing at Gip's the night we were there.

Great photos Nick. Hank's grave doens't look clearly marked; presume it took a while to find?

A nice reminder of a very good trip. Cheers Nick.
