Burlesque and more music at VLV

Day two of VLV was a bit short on good music but this was more than made up for by a two hour Burlesque Showcase featuring nearly a dozen glamorous and exotic burlesque acts, with names such as Roxy Delight, Ophelia Flame, Gal Friday and the UK's own Immodesty Blaise. The show's MC Cora Vette did a great job introducing the acts, telling risqué jokes and singing a couple of songs. Best act was Roxy D'Lite with a particularly raunchy and amusing act.
Music wise the pick of the bunch were Doowop group Lil Mo and the Dynaflos, a bubbly Japanese singer named Conny and raucous Liverpool rockabilly band Furious. Earlier we took a crowded and uncomfortable bus trip from the very flashy and over the top Strip in Vegas to the old centre in Fremont Street, where the Golden Nugget is located. Vegas is really just a place of flashy hotels and casinos on the Strip, with nothing much elsewhere apart from parking lots. There is plenty of entertainment going on but the main focus of the town is separating tourists from their money 24 hours a day. Thank God I don't gamble!
