New Orleans photos - part 1

Continuing the series of photos from my US trip, here are the first ones from New Orleans. Plenty more to come.
On our first night we went to the Bobby Charles tribute at the Rock 'n' Bowl. First act was the lovely Shannon McNally, who has released an album of Bobby Charles songs.
Appearing with Shannon for several numbers was the good doctor himself - Dr John.
The show was one of three we went to in New Orleans arranged by Ira Padnos, aka Dr Ike. organiser of the wonderful Ponderosa Stomp which takes place this year in October.
Main act of the night - purveyors of some great swamp pop and rock and roll - were Louisiana supergroup Lil Band Of Gold. Here are C C Adcock and Steve Riley.
Fellow Lil Band of Gold member David Egan.
Performing for free in the Louisiana Music Factory record shop, here is Davell Crawford.
Another performer there - Chubby Carrier.
Second evening in NOLA we went to the Palm Court for the Naughty Nurses Prom - another Dr Ike gig. Here is Little Freddy King.
Here are Alan, Lee and me with Freddy.
Also on the show was Guitar Lightning Lee.
Some of the naughty nurses, plus Ernie K-Doe impersonator and singer Christine Ohlman.

From there we went on to Snug Harbor. Here are John, Lee, Alan and myself with Marcia Ball.
Next night was Zydeco Night at the Rock 'n' Bowl. Here's Rosie Ledet.
Geno Delafose, another zydeco star.
While there we met up with fellow Woodies Nigel Bewley and Carole Lateman.
Third zydeco band on the bill was Chubby Carrier.
Nick Cobban.
