Original soul LPs part 10

Some more soul LPs from my collection follow. First though a word about a couple of recent deaths. B J (Billy Joe) Thomas has died aged 78. Best known for 'Hooked On A Feeling' (featuring Reggie Young on electric sitar) and 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head', B J grew up in Houston and formed a band called the Triumphs who released an album called 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry' which featured the Hank Williams song which was a big hit. The follow up 'Mama' was also successful. Other successes included the original version of 'I Just Can't Help Believing', 'Everybody's Out Of Town' and 'Mighty Clouds of Joy'. He went on to record gospel and country records. Another death is that of blues harmonica player James Harman at the age of 74. After a number of early singles Harman formed the Icehouse Blues Band which played with many blues artists including John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Albert King. He recorded a string of albums for Rivera and Black Top in the 1990s. The first batch of LPs this time features albums by Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, Jay and the Techniques, Joe Jeffrey, Joe and Eddie, the Jive Five, Johnny Johnson and the Bandwagon, (early) Marv Johnson (including one with the Falcons) and Salena Jones.
The second grouping comprises albums by Anna King, Clydie King, (early) Gladys Knight and the Pips, Major Lance, Bettye Lavette, Jackie Lee and Ketty Lester.
Next we have LPs by Barbara Lewis, Bobby Lewis, Little Eva, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the Manhattans and Barbara Mason.
The next photo shows a batch of LPs by Gene McDaniels and Clyde McPhatter (including one with the Dominoes and one with the Drifters).
The final group this time includes LPs by Clyde McPhatter, early Curtis Mayfield, Mighty Sam, Garnet Mimms (and the Enchanters), Chris Montez, Bobby Moore and the Rhythm Aces and Cliff Nobles and Co.
